Your environment is key when it comes to creating any new schedule or routine. Your ability to focus and be productive relies on the fact that you can feel comfortable in a given space. If you’re working from home, it’s recommended that you dedicate a room or space solely for business purposes. This mindset shift can help you stay in tune with your goals for the day and avoid distractions that are easy to come by when you are blending a home and working environment. 

You might be thinking that your house might not be conducive to perform your day-to-day duties as an employee. Furthermore, you may not have the funds to purchase new office furniture. In this scenario, find ways to work with the space you have by getting creative. Look for a spot in your home that feels calm and energizing to find sources of inspiration. Set boundaries 

When it comes to being proactive and productive, it can be helpful to set personal and professional boundaries in your life. If your office is in your home, keeping your work hours consistent can help you establish a set routine. If your company doesn’t require you to work specific hours, make your schedule based on what works for your lifestyle, but stick to it. Doing so can open up your schedule, allowing you to commit to activities outside of the work hours you set for yourself.
